We provide sustainability consulting services, in Greece and beyond, integrating green building standards — such as LEED, WELL, SITES, BREEAM, Parksmart — with customized ESG strategies. Our crew, with its diverse expertise on teams, applies a Systems Thinking approach to create regenerative, future-proof solutions.

Our company aims at being meaningful in every aspect, starting with our Brand name BIO-SY-MO:

BIO stands for the Greek word “Βιωσιμότητα” which translates to sustainability, SY stands for “Systems Thinking” and MO stands for the Latin term “Modus Operanti” which translates to mode of operation. In other words, BIO-SY-MO implies that we are a company which pursues and operates under the principles of sustainability, from a systems thinking/integrative perspective. Our consultancy firm is dedicated to facilitating a cost-efficient transition of the built environment towards a low-carbon and sustainable future.

Systems Thinking In Action

Our sector, the built environment, has to be able to sustain deep changes to survive the adaptation brought by the climate crisis. Thus, innovative actions are of essence by putting life at the center while considering the consensus of society, our planet, and profit.

Using the systemic frameworks there are three levels that need to be considered at any project. The first level incorporates the location and the people that make up the project team and the end users of the building, the second level considers the surrounding neighborhood in terms of language, culture, nature etc. and the third level extends to the reach of the project’s sphere of influence, this may be an area, a city or even a country.

Considering these three levels we, in BIO-SY-MO, try to stay open to the required adaptations that will integrate the eminent changes that our sector and humanity needs. By addressing sustainability challenges holistically, we enable integrated, pathways and actionable solutions even to the complexity of real estate industry. The term of sustainability is dynamic thus we are emphasizing to an ongoing process rather than a fixed standard.
