Generali Ηeadquarters is a newly constructed office building with 4 basements and 7 stories above ground, totaling an area of about 13000sq.m.. This building is considered among the most prestigious buildings in the city with an exterior glass facade, that through innovation on the layering of the envelope materials is still very energy efficient and full of natural light while maintaining proper glare levels. A building that even though it is located on one of the busiest highways of Athens, it was still able to achieve high quality views while restoring some habitat in its landscape area which, along with the use of reflective material, helped with the mitigation of the heat island effect. Interior material selection has also brought another touch to the final outcome, as there is a large percentage of recycled content among them while providing a great indoor air quality with low to zero VOC emissions. It is worth noting that this project is listed as one of the few buildings that have accomplished LEED v4 Platinum Certification in Greece.
